The Southwest Center for Female Genital RefinementVaginoplastyVaginoplasty is a female genital refinement procedure designed specifically to tighten vaginal tissue and vaginal muscles. Women who have experienced childbirth report that vaginal muscles tend to remain enlarged due to expansion during delivery. The vagina, over time, becomes loose with weak vaginal muscles. Even Kegel exercises may not help the condition. Many women report that the effects of their loose vagina cause their sex life to experience a severe reduction in satisfaction. Vaginoplasty, which is also called vaginal tightening or vaginal enhancement, is a procedure that is designed to eliminate the problem of stretched vaginal muscles. This surgery will significantly improve the chances of a woman having a great sex life in the future. The surgery will tone vaginal muscles resulting in greater strength and will allow for greater sensation during intercourse or other sexual activities involving the vagina. Dr. Benson believes that women who are in satisfactory health can tolerate labial/vaginal refinement surgery. Vaginoplasty is a painless, bloodless procedure performed as an outpatient. It allows for tightening of the vaginal muscles and surrounding tissues by reducing the diameter of the opening of the vagina. This allows for an increase in contact and squeezing during sexual experiences. Usually, the patient may return to all normal activities after a six-week healing period. It is important to know that all surgeries have risk. In general, Vaginoplasty is extremely safe, but issues of infection, bleeding, and scarring among others will be discussed at length with the patient by Dr. Benson prior to the procedure. Other names for Vaginoplasty are vaginal reduction, vaginal enhancement and vaginal rejuvenation, vagina reduction, or vagina enhancment.
